GIVING VOICE TO THE LAND

3-5PM 13TH OF JUNE
GREEN SCYTHE FAIR

A workshop led by artist, songwriter and founder of We Are Wild Sessions, Jya Raine. Through mindfully led creative practices, we'll explore how to build our own connection to the land. Using our senses as a guide, we'll develop songs, drawings and intentions that draw us into a deeper sense of belonging with the natural world. No experience needed. Just curiosity and a willingness to notice.

Giving Voice to the Land -  A workshop for our relationship to nature

We are not separate from nature. We are a part of it — and our separateness is our own doing.

This workshop invites you to return. Through observation, listening, touch, and song, we explore how creativity can become a form of conversation with the living world around us.

Using writing prompts drawn from the land itself, we'll sit with the plants, the wildlife, the small symbioses happening all around us. We'll write from what we see, feel and hear — and from the perspectives of the beings we share this earth with. From those words, we'll find the seeds of a song.

No experience needed. Just a willingness to notice.

Please bring a pen, sketchbook/notebook, and if you play an instrument, feel free to bring that along.

"We often forget that we are nature. Nature is not something separate from us. So when we say that we have lost our connection to nature, we've lost our connection to ourselves."

— Andy Goldsworthy
